Basic Info
Bio
I'm a teacher, a librarian, an historian, and a rennie. I've been a papermill worker (I still have my union card), short order cook, radio jock, landscaper, camp counselor, camp cook, bartender, and security guard, and, twice, a "suit". Now, mostly I sell books at renaissance and medieval faires, pirate and historical reenactments. And, now and then, I push rides, run games, hawk other merchants' wares, work setup crew, or as a street performer. I've written a couple of books and some articles and a lot of book reviews (favorite comment on that "gee, no offense, but you sure write about dull stuff"). I have been told I'm a very good politician and a lousy diplomat (and I hate politics). I left the rat race several years ago, and generally am very happy with what I'm doing.
I've lived in a bunch of places east of the Mississippi, lived in a small commune for awhile, and have eaten most critters that look like fish, but won't eat shellfish. I am a fan of pigs, and most rodents. Given my earlier professions, I generally suffer fools gladly (but don't assume I can't be really nasty sarcastic at need, or when pushed).
Thus far, this site is open to the world at large. I am open to friending and being friended, but kindly tell me who you are in an offlist message, OK?
And, for what it's worth, I've been called "really old school".
Mostly this site is for what seems to be a moderately popular diary of my travels as a vendor at faires. So there.
